In this meeting, committee set 30 June 2022 as a deadline to complete committee works regarding Amendment bill to the Tourism Act (Act no. 2/99). Further, three proposals were proposed during discussions on how to proceed with the bill. They are; 1. Honorable Member of Central Maafannu constituency Ibrahim Rasheed proposed and supported by Honorable member of Maavashu constituency Mohamed Saeed to gather comments regarding the bill from Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), Local Government Authority (LGA), Maldives Monetrary Authority (MMA) Maldives Inland Revenue Authority(MIRA), Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Tourism. 2.Honorable Member of Milandhoo constituency Ali Riza proposed and supported by Honorable Member of North Thinadhoo constituency Abdul Mughnee to gather comments in writing from all proposed authorities and to meet Maldives Association for Tourism Industry (MATI), MIRA, MMA, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Tourism. 3. Honorable member of Maavashu constituency Mohamed Saeed proposed and supported by Honorable Member of Central Maafannu constituency Ibrahim Rasheed to hold a forum to seek public opinion on the bill. First two proposals were passed by the committee with consensus by vote taken among members present at the time and the last proposal was rejected by vote taken among members present at the time.
