Meeting with Ministry of Finance regarding Amendment bill to the Tourism Act (Act no. 2/99). In this regard, the Minister of Finance noted that the bill includes important amendments to the Act to address the challenges faced in selling state shares of islands leased under joint venture, and also noted that the Economic Council has decided to withdraw proposed land lease changes on the Bill. In addition members inquired about the economic situation and debt situation of the Maldives, amount of debt, how the debts were managed, and further information related to the bill.
