Summary
In today's meeting, the agenda was appointment of the Committee chair and Deputy chair of the committee was scheduled as the newly elected members were allocated to the committees in the 2nd sitting of the 20th Majlis.
Assistant Director General Legal Affairs, Dr. Aminath Asfa Shafie conducted the appointment of the Chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Committee
Hulhudhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Shahid proposed to elect Manadhoo constituency Member Husnee Mubarik as the Chair of the Committee. It was seconded by Central Fuvahmulak Constituency Member Ali Fazad. This proposal was passed unanimously and Member for Manadhoo Constituency Husnee Mubarik was elected as the Chairperson of the Committee. As for the Deputy Chair of the Committee, 2 proposals were made for the post of deputy chair of Committee
1. Kendhoo Constituency Member Mauroof Zakir proposed South Hithadhoo Constituency Member Ibrahim Nazil as Deputy Chairperson of the Committee. No member seconded this proposal.
2. Hulhudhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Shahid proposed Huraa Constituency Member Dr. Anara Naeem as Deputy Chairperson of the Committee. It was seconded by Holhudhoo Constituency Member Abdul Sattar Mohamed.
Since the first proposal was not seconded by any of the members, vote was put to the second proposal. This proposal was also passed unanimously and Member for Huraa Constituency Dr. Anara Naeem was elected as the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee.
