The agenda for today’s meeting was held to discuss and decide on the work plan of the committee. Firstly, the committee discussed the working quorum and voting quorum of the committee. Member for Thulusdhoo Constituency, Ibrahim Naseem proposed to set the working quorum to 1/3 of the committee (4 members) as the Standing Order states that the working quorum of a committee shall not be lower than 1/3 of its members, and to set the voting quorum to 2/3 of the committee (6 members). Member for Henveiru Hulhangu Constituency, Ali Ibrahim seconded the proposal. The voting details are as follows.
Vote: Committee Working Quorum as 4 members and Committee Voting Quorum as 6 members
Total no. of members: 11
No. of members present: 10
Voted Yes: 9
Voted No: 0
Abstain: 0
Total Voted: 9
No. of votes required to Pass: 6
Vote Result: Passed with all members present and voting.
Hence, the committee passed the Committee Working Quorum as 4 members and Committee Voting Quorum as 6 members, as proposed to the committee.
Then the committee deliberated on the formulation of a guideline to follow regarding the issues sent to the committee, other than the issues mentioned in Article 151 (a) of the Standing Order of People’s Majlis. Therein, the committee decided on adopting the guideline in accordance with Article 151 (b) of the Standing Order.
Following this, Member for Thulusdhoo Constituency, Ibrahim Naseem proposed to have introductory meetings with the institutions under the committee’s mandate. Member for Felidhoo Constituency, Adam Zahir seconded the proposal. The voting details are as follows.

Vote Result: Passed with all members present and voting.
The committee requested the Chairperson to decide on the dates for the introductory meetings. Subsequently, the committee decided to hold the introductory meetings with the institutions under the committee’s mandate every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00 hours.
In concluding the meeting, the committee decided to hold committee meetings every Tuesday at 11:00 hours.
