The first item on today’s agenda was to discuss a policy for the committee. The committee discussed the policy document shared by the secretariat and suggested some changes. Mr. Hassan Zareer (Mathiveri constituency) proposed to approve the discussed policy with the changes, and it was seconded by Mr. Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim (Maafannu Hulhangu constituency). And all the members present in the committee unanimously approved to adopt the policy.

Then, once the chairman opened the floor to submit under other matters (Ehenihen), Mr. Hassan Waheed (Vilufushi Constituency) proposed to summon the Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy and management of the Waste management corporation limited to clarify the waste management issue in the islands and to find a solution to waste related problems. It was seconded by Mr. Hassan Zareer (Mathiveri constituency).

After that, Mr. Hassan Zareer (Mathiveri constituency) proposed to inquire about the government’s policy on installing solar panels on the roof of mosques to reduce spendings on increasing electricity bills when the minister gets summoned to the committee.

As the last item of the day, when the chairman opened the floor for suggestions on a fixed day for committee meetings, Mr. Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to consider every Monday at 10:30am. It was seconded by Mr. Mohamed Mamdhooh (Funadhoo Constituency).

Hence, committee decided to have regular committee meetings on every Monday at 10:30 am.
Once the chairman opened the floor for members suggestions, Mr. Asadhulla Shihab (Gemanafushi Constituency) suggested to inform the ministries about the specific information, the committee members want to clarify by including that information in the invitation letter sent to the ministries and other relevant bodies. The committee members agreed to this suggestion.
