Summary
In today’s meeting the committee discussed the letter sent by the Drivers Association of Maldives requesting to arrange a meeting with the committee regarding their concerns over introduction of a taxi fleet by government. Hoarafushi constituency member Ali Moosa proposed to meet with the drivers' association of Maldives after obtaining written information from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. It was seconded by Central Mahchangolhi constituency member Ahmed Xamyr and was passed unanimously.
Kendhoo Constituency MP Mauroof Zakir proposed to meet both Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and the Drivers Association of Maldives at one committee sitting and the proposal wasn’t seconded by any member of the committee.
Second item on the today’s meeting agenda was to review the annual reports of the Maldives Customs Service for the year 2022 and 2023. Hoarafushi constituency member Ali Moosa proposed to send the recommendations in the summary paper submitted by the committee's secretariat regarding the annual reports to the Maldives Customs Services. It was seconded by Central Mahchangolhi constituency member Ahmed Xamyr and was passed unanimously.
