Committee Meeting - People's Majlis of Maldives

Summary

The Members of the Committee first discussed on how to proceed with the annual reports sent by the institutions that are within the mandate of the Committee. Honorable Member of the Thinadhoo North Constituency Saudhullah Hilmi proposed that a summary of the annual reports be prepared by the Committee Secretariat and presented to the committee. No Member had objected to the proposal, and it was decided to proceed as such.

The Committee then proceeded to discuss the next steps to be taken by the Committee on reviewing the bill proposed to amend the Act No. 7/2021 (Higher Education and Training Act). After discussion, it was decided to review the comments received from various stakeholders on the bill.

The Committee then proceeded to discuss the letter sent by the Honorable Member of the North Galolhu Constituency Ibrahim Mohamed, which includes comments on the bill. Honorable Member of the Hoarafushi Constituency Ali Moosa proposed the Committee to review the regulation mentioned in the letter. As no member had objected to the proposal, it was decided to proceed as such.
