Summary
In today’s meeting committee discussed the annual reports from the Maldivian mission in Thailand, Tokyo, New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pakistan. South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain proposed the following proposal, and Kendhikulhudhoo Constituency Member Mohammed Afu Hamid seconded that the sub-committee should refer the twelve annual reports to the Foreign Relations Committee. It can be challenging to determine from the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the Foreign Relations Committee meeting on July 1, 2024. It is unidentified what the Ministry aims to accomplish in 2024. And the Ministry's 2023 goals lack information on the challenges that were faced in accomplishing the objectives along with what may be done to improve them. Since the Auditor General's Office attended the meeting, a letter should be written to the Committee requesting them to identify problems observed throughout the meeting that need to be improved in the annual reports.
Then the members voted on this proposal and unanimously passed to submit the Sub-Committee's findings and twelve revised annual reports to the Foreign Relations Committee.
