Summary

In today’s meeting, the agenda was to review the two bills submitted to the Committee.

First the committee reviewed the Infrastructure Development and Planning Bill. After reviewing the bill section by section, North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed and Central Mahchangolhi Member Ahmed Xamyr seconded to pass the sections from 1 to 27, excluding the following:

·        Section 4;

·        Section 6 (b) (1);

·        Section 13 (g), (i) and (j); and

·        Section 25 (e).

The Committee unanimously passed Infrastructure Development and Planning Bill from section 1 to 27, excluding the parked sections.


After that, the committee further reviewed the bill. North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed to pass the sections from 28 to 49. This proposal was seconded by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda. The Committee unanimously passed Infrastructure Development and Planning Bill from sections 28 to 49.

 

Next on the agenda was reviewing the Amendment Bill on Decentralization Act (Act No: 7/2010). After reviewing the bill section by section, North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed to pass the bill as a whole. This proposal was seconded by Central Mahchangolhi Member Ahmed Xamyr. The Committee unanimously passed the Amendment Bill on Decentralization Act (Act No: 7/2010).
