Summary
The agenda for this meeting was to review the Urban Development Bill.
When the floor was opened for members after the discussions, Keyodhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Niushad proposed to open the bill for public comments for a period of 3 days, and to invite officials of the following Ministries to discuss about the bill:
1- Ministry of Housing, Land & Urban Development; and
2- Ministry of Cities Local Government & Public Works.
This proposal was seconded by Thoddoo Constituency Member Hussain Sameer.
The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
After that, the committee proceeded to set a deadline for the bill. North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed, and Kolamaafushi Constituency Member Ibrahim Didi seconded to set 10th October 2024 as the deadline for the bill.
