Summary

The first item on today’s agenda was to discuss about summoning the Attorney General regarding the issue of individuals and companies not paying fines for damaging the environment. Once the chair opened the floor to the members, Mathiveri Constituency Member Hassan Zareer proposed to summon the Attorney General to clarify information on the issue. It was seconded by Hulhumale constituency Member Abdulla Shazeem.

Hence, the members present in the meeting unanimously approved to summon the Attorney General regarding the issue of individuals and companies not paying the environmental damage fines.

After that, Mafannu Hulhangu member Mohamed Musthafa proposed to summon the relevant team handling the waste management project funded by the Asian Development Bank to further discuss the waste management issue in the Maldives. It was seconded by Vilufushi constituency member Hassan Zareer.

Hence, the members present in the meeting unanimously approved to summon the team handling the ADB funded waste management project and further clarify the waste management issue in the Maldives.
