Summary
The first issue to be discussed was the letter on the concerns shared with the President by members of Women's Development Committees sent by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works. Addu Meedhoo Constituency Member Abdul Rahman proposed to meet the relevant officials of the Ministry of Finance, Local Government Authorities and the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works. This proposal was seconded by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda.
The committee unanimously passed to meet with the relevant authorities regarding the WDC issue.
Secondly, the committee discussed the issue sent by Th. Kandoodhoo Council regarding the establishment of police services on the island. Two proposals were submitted to the committee after the members deliberated on the issue. Meanwhile, Kolamafushi Constituency Member Ibrahim Didi has supported the proposal of Addu Meedhoo Constituency Member Abdul Rahman to refer the matter to the Committee on National Security Services. This proposal was not passed.
As a second proposal, Bilehdhoo Constituency Member Ahmed Aslam proposed, and Vilufushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed supported that committee should write to the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology to clarify the obstacles in the establishment of police services in Kandoodhoo and the procedure followed in establishing police services in the islands.
By the majority of committee, it was passed to send a letter to Ministry of Homeland Security and Technologies to clarify the issue.
Thirdly, the committee discussed a letter from the public. The committee has decided to write a letter to the petitioner seeking clarification on the status of the case as three months have passed since it was received by the committee.
Finally, the committee discussed another letter from the public. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda has proposed that all the members should study the matter carefully and to agenda the issue for the next committee meeting. The proposal was supported by Vilufushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed.
