Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee discussed the to hold a stakeholder meeting regarding the following two bills.
1. Bill on Amendment to Mutual Legal Amendment Act (Act No. 2/2015) (Holhudhoo Consituency Member AbduhSattar Mohamed)
2. Bill on Amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act (Act No. 12/2016) (Manadhoo Constituency Member Husnee Mubaarik)
Committee decided to invite Attorney General’s Office, Prosecutor General’s Office, Maldives Bar Council and Maldives Police Service. No member opposed this proposal.
Then Committee discussed the issue sent by the President regarding the Appointment of the Members to the Tax Appeal Tribunal. Committee decided to acquire information regarding the candidates from related institutions by 2pm today, and the deadline to submit public complaints for the candidates to be given as 23rd October 2024, 10am.
This was proposed by Huraa Constituency Member Dr. Anara Naeem and seconded by Milandhoo Contituency Abdul Mufeed Abdulagadir.
This proposal was passed unanimously by the members present and voting in the meeting.
