Summary
The committee sat with officials from Ministry of Finance to discuss the budget of the independent institutions proposed in the 2025 budget. In the discussion, the Minister highlighted that the budget of government offices, government ministries and their subordinate offices is proposed to implement government policies. In addition, the Minister highlighted that the budget of independent institutions is determined after consultation with respective institutions and gave assurance that, if any institution finds it difficult to fulfil their mandate with the current proposed budget, the necessary funds will be provided from the contingency budget.
