Summary
In this meeting, the paperwork related to the Currency Swap Agreement between Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) to rectify the foreign currency short term liquidity in managing the external reserve was shared with the members.
Audited financial statements of Auditor General’s Office for the year 2023 received from KPMG was discussed. As proposed by Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Ghafoor Moosa and seconded by Baarashu Constituency member Ibrahim Shujau, the committee decided that the sub-committee formed to review the audit reports should review the audit report of Auditor General’s Office for the year 2023.
Letters received from Auditor General’s Office stating that the deadline to complete the Special Audit of Fenaka Corporation limited requested by the committee as 27th February 2025 and the deadline to complete the audit requested by the committee regarding the settlements as 27th March 2025, were shared with the members.
A letter received from a former employee at the Auditor General’s Office requesting to review how the office carried out the process of his retirement from the post was discussed, and decided to inform him that the committee gathered information from Auditor General’s Office regarding the issue and that they have informed the committee that the process of the retirement was carried out as per the guideline 2022/G-16 published on gazette.
Furthermore, information received from the Ministry of Homeland and Security regarding the project of building police stations on the islands was discussed and decided to send this issue to Committee on National Security Services for further review.
