Committee Meeting - People's Majlis of Maldives

Summary

The agenda for today’s meeting was to review the Urban Development Bill. Based on the comments received on the bill, the Attorney General's Office proposed the following changes:

· A total of seven sections of the Bill (section 9 (a) (1); section 9 (b); section 9 (f); section 10 (c); section 13 (a); section 13 (b); section 14 (a); section 32 (a); section 37(b); and section 51(l)) were amended; and

· An additional provision was incorporated after section 14(g) of the bill.

Each amendment was put to a separate vote.

Following this, the Committee Chairperson proposed the passage of the entire bill, including all amendments made by the committee. This proposal was unanimously passed by all members present.
