In this meeting committee reviewed letter sent by North Galolhu constituency member Mohamed Ibrahim requesting to clarify about the Maldives Monetary Authority’s regulation on money changing businesses and to hear and address concerns of the businesses in tourism industry regarding the regulation and its impact on those businesses in an open forum.

In this regard, North Thinadhoo constituency member Saudhulla Hilmee proposed to refer the regulation to the Committee on Secondary Legislatation for their review under Article 119 of the Rules of Parliament and it was seconded by Velidhoo constituency member Mohamed Abbas.

In Addition Kurendhoo constituency member Mauroof Zakir proposed to meet the member who proposed the issue to the committee for further clarification since the issue submitted was not about the validity of the regulation rather about reviewing the impact of the regulation and it was seconded by Kanditheemu constituency member Ameen Faisal.
