Summary

In today’s meeting, Committee discussed regarding the amendment bill on Law No 30/2015 (Maldives Sports Act).


After much deliberation, North Galolhu Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim proposed to set 28th February 2025 as the deadline for the completion of the bill. Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel supported the proposal. The proposal was passed unanimously.


Next, West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to meet all the stakeholders in the National Sports framework to discuss the bill. South Mahchangolhi Constituency Member Mustafa Hussain seconded this proposal. The proposal was passed unanimously.


Lastly, West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim proposed that all administrative formalities regarding the stakeholder meeting should be completed by 15th January 2025 and to get comments from the public and stakeholders on the bill by 15th January 2025. South Mahchangolhi Constituency Member Mustafa Hussain seconded this proposal. The proposal was passed unanimously.
