The first item on today’s agenda was to discuss the issue of companies and individuals not paying fines for environmental damage. Regarding this issue, Mathiveri Constituency Member, Hassan Zareer proposed to summon representatives from the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy all at once. It was seconded by Thinadhoo Constituency Member, Mohamed Alsan Ahmed.
After that, West Mafannu Constituency Member, Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to bring relevant companies to clarify their issues. It was seconded by Central Hulhumale Constituency member Abdulla Shazeem.
The chairperson decided to summon the agreed upon parties after the recess.
