Summary
In this meeting, the committee sat with the officials from the Auditor General’s Office to discuss the Special Audit of Police Housing Project. A presentation was given by the Auditor General’s Office regarding the Report and responded to the questions of the committee members.

Following this, the members discussed the letters received from authorities regarding the audit report. As a confidential report was shared by Anti-Corruption Commission, the discussions related to the report were held confidentially.
After the discussions, Funadhoo Constituency member Mohamed Mamdooh proposed to form a sub-committee of 5 members to further analyze the audit report. It was seconded by Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Gafoor Moosa and passed unanimously.
In addition, Funadhoo Constituency member Mohamed Mamdooh proposed the members below to include in the sub-committee.
1. Eydhafushi Constituency member Ahmed Saleem
2. Dhiggaru Constituency member Ahmed Nazim
3. Central Hithadhoo Constituency member Ahmed Azaan Marzooq
4. South Hulhumale’ Constituency member Dr. Ahmed Shamheed
Central Hithadhoo Constituency member Ahmed Azaan Marzooq proposed the name of Funadhoo Constituency member Mohamed Mamdooh as the fifth member of the committee.
Two proposals were seconded by Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Gafoor Moosa and passed unanimously.
The committee then commenced the work of evaluation of the proposals received for the announcement to appoint a firm to perform the audit of Auditor General’s Office for the year 2024. Eydhafushi Constituency member Ahmed Saleem proposed to award KPMG with the work as they scored highest in the evaluation. Central Hithadhoo Constituency member Ahmed Azaan Marzooq seconded this proposal and was passed by the committee unanimously.
Furthermore, Hanimaadhoo Constituency member Abdul Gafoor Moosa proposed to request Auditor General’s Office to perform a special audit of SIFCO housing project along with a financial audit of SIFCO for the year 2024, which was seconded by Eydhafushi Constituency member Ahmed Saleem and passed unanimously.
