In today’s meeting, Committee decided the following regarding Prevention of Gang Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes Bill.
1. Committee set the deadline of the Prevention of Gang Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes Bill as 28 February 2025
2. Committee decided to give until 20 February 2025for public comments on the Bill
3. To send for comments to the relevant institutions. The relevant authorities are as below;
1. Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology
2. Maldives Police Service
3. Prosecutor General’s Office
4. Human rights commission of the Maldives
5. Department of Judicial Administration
6. Maldives Bar Council
This was proposed by Milandhoo Constituency Member Hassan Mufeed Abdulgadhir and seconded by North Feydhoo Constituency Member Ismail Nizar. This proposal was passed unanimously.
