Summary

In today's meeting, the Committee reviewed the petition submitted by civil employees of the Maldives Correctional Service.

As the Committee had received a response to its information request from the Maldives Correctional Service, members deliberated on the details provided.

During the discussion, Dhidhdhoo Constituency Member Abdul Latheef Mohamed proposed to hold further meetings with both the Petitioners and the Maldives Correctional Service for further review of the petition. This proposal was seconded by Madaveli Constituency Member Mohamed Shameez.

The motion was unanimously passed by the members present at the meeting.


Following this, the Committee decided on an email submitted by the Petitioners requesting the disclosure of documents exchanged between the Committee and the Maldives Correctional Service. After discussion, Dhidhdhoo Constituency Member Abdul Latheef Mohamed proposed not to disclose the requested documents, with North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan seconding the proposal.
