Summary
In today’s committee, members discussed the issue sent by North Galolhu constituency member Mohamed Ibrahim regarding the mechanism for exchange of real-time information under the 5th Amendment Act of Act no: 12/2016 (Criminal Procedure Code). As establishing the mechanism for exchange of real-time information is a responsibility of Maldives Monetary Authority it was decided to send the issue to Public Accounts Committee.
Although it was decided in the last meeting of the committee to meet Fenaka Corporation Limited and Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited, Gadhdhoo constituency member Mohamed Ali proposed to meet the officials of both the companies after the month of Ramazan and to obtain the required information in writing. This was seconded by Kinbidhoo constituency member Ali Ashrag. This proposal was passed by majority vote.
Maavashu constituency member Ahmed Shakir proposed to summon the officials of both companies on 27th February 2025. It was seconded by Thoddoo constituency member Hussain Sameer. However, since the first proposal on the issue has been passed, no vote has been taken on this proposal.
