Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee reviewed the amendment to the Standing Order of People's Majlis, proposed by Ihavandhoo Constituency Member Ahmed Naseer in accordance with Article 272 (c) of the Standing Order of People's Majlis.
The committee members highlighted that the proposed amendment to the Standing Order of People's Majlis, will assist to speed up the functioning of parliamentary committees, important decision-making, and with a shortened time limit will enable the committees to obtain necessary information and summon those who need to be summoned more easily and would make it easier for the Parliament to hold those accountable and increase the transparency of the work of the Parliament.
After reviewing the amendment, South Feydhoo Constituency Member Ibrahim Didi proposed to pass the amendment as proposed and was seconded by Isdhoo Constituency Member Ismail Shafeeu. This proposal was passed unanimously.
