Committee Meeting - People's Majlis of Maldives

Summary

In today's meeting, the committee discussed the expenses incurred in 2023 and 2024 for sewing uniforms for Maldives Correctional Service employees. It was decided to give members additional time to review the documents, and to obtain audit reports of the Cooperative Society by sending a letter to Correctional Services to inquire whether the Maldives Correctional Service's Corporate Society is being operated in accordance with laws and regulations. Additionally, discussions were held to share the issues identified so far by the Public Accounts Committee regarding corporative societies established in government institutions with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and to obtain information on the work done so far and ongoing efforts by the Ministry to address these issues.
