Summary

-In today’s meeting, the committee further reviewed Immigration Act Amendment Bill and the amendment discussed in the previous meeting.

Member for Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid proposed the removal of the first provision in the bill. This proposal was seconded by Member for Vilimale Constituency Mohamed Ismail. The proposal was unanimously passed. The details of this vote is in the “Votes” part of this page.

Secondly, Member for Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid proposed including an amendment to the bill, to include another provision in the 8th Provision of the Immigration Act. This proposal was seconded by Member for Vilimale Constituency Mohamed Ismail. The proposal was unanimously passed. The details of this vote is in the “Votes” part of this page.

The Committee then passed the bill with the aforementioned amendments and decided to send the committee report to the Majlis for its consideration.
