Summary
In today’s meeting, the Committee first reviewed a public letter expressing concerns about the Male’ City Council’s decision to convert the Maafannu Cemetery into a parking zone. The committee decided to respond the individual, based on the documents received by the committee.
Following this, the Committee reviewed L. Maamendhoo Council’s issue regarding the operational hours of the L. Maamendhoo Health Centre. The Council requested that the Centre operate for 16 hours, in accordance with its designation as a Level 2 Health Centre. After reviewing the information received from the Ministry of Health, the committee agreed to send a letter to the Ministry of Finance and Planning to acquire more information regarding the issue.
After that, the Committee then reviewed a letter from the public concerning the B. Kudarikilu Council’s decision to designate the northern area of Kudarikilu beach side for guesthouses. Regarding this issue the committee proposed to send a letter to the individual stating that the committee does not see the need to overturn the Kudarikilu council's decision because they have followed all the legal procedures outlined in the Decentralization Act.
Lastly, the Local Council’s annual report 2023 and Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public works annual report for the year 2024 were reviewed. In this issue, the committee decided to inform the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works and Local Government Authority to present a presentation based on reports.
