Summary
Today’s meeting, continued to review the decision made at the committee's 2nd meeting on April 16, 2025, to meet the Maldives Broadcasting Commission of Maldives and relevant authorities at our upcoming meeting regarding the issue of preventing the circulation of photos and videos of dresses that are contrary to the general social norms on social media.
Makunudhoo Constituency Member Adam Shafeeq proposed rejecting the decision since the matter does not appear to be within the scope of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission, nor is the commission within the mandate of this committee. It was seconded by Maradhoo Constituency Member Ahmed Didi. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
Thereafter, North Hulhumale Constituency Member Hussain Shareef proposed to meet Maldives National Centre for Information Technology and Communication Authority to discuss the matter. It was seconded by North Mahchangolhi Constituency Member Ibrahim Muhammad. (It was approved without a vote as neither of the committee members objected to it.)
