Summary

In today’s meeting, Committee reviewed the Attorney General's Office Bill.

Committee discussed the bill with the amendment proposed by the Attorney General's Office to the clauses of the bill. 

Committee then decided to pass the bill with the amendments and send to Parliament for consideration. 

The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee

As all the issues in Committee Agenda has not been completed, South Hithadhoo MP Ibrahim Nazim proposed to extend the committee meeting to another 1.5 hours. This proposal was seconded by Faresmathoda MP Ashraf Rasheed. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee.

Next, Committee reviewed the Prevention of Gang Crimes and Other Dangerous Crimes Bill and discussed the amendments from Attorney General’s office. 

Committee then decided to pass the bill with the amendments and send to Parliament for consideration.
