Summary
In today’s meeting, Committee reviewed the Counsel General legal opinion which was sent regarding the Committee’s decision on dismissal of Supreme Court Judge Dr. Azmiralda Zahir and Uz. Mahaz Ali Zahir highlighting the investigation was not conducted in accordance with Judicial Service Commission Act and all the procedures were incomplete.
Committee members discussed regarding Counsel General’s Legal Opinion and decided to forward the committee’s decision to the Parliament with Counsel General’s recommendation attached.
This was proposed by Huraa MP Dr. Anara Naeem and seconded by North Feydhoo MP Ismail Nizar.
The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present in the committee

As an additional proposal at this meeting, South Hithadhoo MP Ibrahim Nazil proposed to revise the Counsel General’s Opinion on this matter and make a decision. No member seconded this proposal, therefore vote was not taken.
