Summary

Today's meeting was conducted to approve the report on the issue referred by the President to the Majlis, regarding the appointment of a member to the Maldives Broadcasting Commission. In this context, the Chair consensually decided to hold a vote on the committee's recommendation regarding the report’s approval.

Result: Passed unanimously with all members present and voting.

Thereafter, committee discussed the issue sent from Majlis, referred by the President to appoint a member to the Maldives Broadcasting Commission. Once the chairman opened the floor, South Fuvahmulah constituency member Ibrahim Hussain proposed the following; Setting the deadline as 18th of June 2025, to form an administrative panel of 3 employees as per the Standing Order of the People’s Majlis to examine the eligibility of the candidates, with the nominees being Uza. Shahzadh Saeed (Legal Officer) Aishath Rifa (Senior Officer) and Fathimath Nadha (Senior Committee Officer), to open for public comments till 29th May 2025 and to interview the candidates nominated by the president on 16th June 2025.It was seconded by Mulaku constituency member Ibrahim Naufal.

Result: Passed unanimously with all members present and voting.
