Committee on Secondary Legislation
25 Jun 2025 Number M20/M/GV/2025/06
In today's meeting, the committee discussed the issues that were in committee status. First Manadhoo constituency member Husnee Mubarik proposed to file the issue sent regarding Maldives Inland Revenue Authority to whistleblowers committee as no irregularities or contradictions were found in the tax regulations. He also proposed giving the Committee Chair the authority to decide on filing cases that do not require the level of scrutiny to be presented to the committee, after reviewing these cases from an administrative perspective. This proposal was seconded by Vilufushi constituency member Hassan Waheed and passed unanimously.
Then, the policy established by the Ministry of Education, regarding Persons who can attend school functions as guests of honor, was communicated to the members.
Lastly, members discussed the issue sent regarding the regulations to be formed under the Act no 2/2022 (Electronic Transactions Act). As the ministry has informed the committee that the regulations would be published before 30th July 2025, it was decided to hold further consultations with the ministry if the deadline was not met.
