Summary
In today's meeting, the committee discussed information received from Maldives Monetary Authority and Maldives Inland Revenue Authority regarding the issues submitted by Mission 2 Maldives Private Limited and Mission 4 Maldives Private Limited stating that there are conflicts in Foreign Currency Act (32/2024), Maldives Inland Revenue Authority’s Circular no. 220-TD/CIR/2020/05 and Maldives Monetary Authority’s Regulation 2024/R-12, and decided to inform them the committee would not further review the issue as the mentioned authorities have informed the committee that they have explained the issue to Mission 2 Maldives Private Limited and Mission 4 Maldives Private Limited.
A summary of annual report of Maldives Monetary Authority for the year 2024 was shared with the members.
Furthermore, the issue of rents due for the housing project for employees of State Electric Company Limited was discussed. As proposed by Kelaa Constituency member Abdulla Shareef and seconded by North Henveyru Constituency member Ahmed Aifan, the committee unanimously decided to inform State Electric Company Limited recover the dues in accordance with the agreements and to share with the committee details of the amount recovered by the company as rent.
