Summary

In today’s meeting, the Committee discussed the amendment Bill on Amendment to the Thalassemia Control Act (No. 4/2012). The following amendments were brought to the bill.

1.     Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 6-1 (c) of the Bill. This proposal was seconded by West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.

2.     Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel proposed to amend section 6-1 (i) of the Bill. This proposal was seconded by West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.

3.     West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim Member proposed to amend section 6-1 (j) of the Bill. This proposal was seconded by Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.

Lastly, as there were no objections from the Committee members, the Chairperson called for a vote to pass the bill with the amendments. The bill was passed unanimously by the members present.
