Summary
In today’s meeting, the Committee first reviewed the Petition for negligence in receiving statutory benefits for children with disabilities. Nolhivarum Constituency Member Mohamed Rasheed proposed to meet with the relevant officials of Minsitry of Health and Food and Drug Authority to further acquire information about the issues highlighted in the Petition. This was seconded by Vaikaradhoo Constituency Member Hussain Ziyad. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present at the meeting.
The Committee then reviewed the Petition calling for a resolution to the challenges faced by students studying in Spain under the government’s student loan scheme. Madaveli Constituency Member Mohamed Shameez proposed to meet with the relevant officials of Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development to further acquire information about the issues highlighted in the Petition. This was seconded by Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim. The proposal was unanimously passed by the members present at the meeting.
