Summary
The first thing that was discussed in today’s meeting was issue submitted by North Galolhu Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim regarding the difficulties faced by the MBBS students getting internship opportunities from IGMH. When the floor was opened, considering the information obtained by the committee from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education, Skills Development and Labor, Felidho Constituency Member Adam Zahir proposed to send a response letter to the member who submitted the matter with the information he requested, and West Henveyru Member Ali Ibrahim seconded this proposal.
The proposal was submitted to a vote and was passed by a majority of the committee.
Next, the Committee proceeded with examining the matter regarding F. Magoodhoo Airport, where despite 85% of the construction work being completed and having the necessary materials and personnel available, work has been halted. Regarding this issue, two proposals were put forward by the committee members.
1. South Hulhumale Constituency Member Doctor Ahmed Shamheed proposed and South Galolhu Constituency Member Meekail Ahmed Naseem seconded to send another letter to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure to clarify additional information regarding the issue.
The proposal was submitted to a vote but did not receive sufficient support.
2. Considering the information provided by the Ministry with this Committee regarding this matter, and since the information requested by the party who submitted the case has been received, Felidho Constituency Member Adam Zahir proposed, and West Henveyru Member Ali Ibrahim seconded, to send a response letter to the party who submitted the case after reviewing the information.
The proposal was submitted to a vote and was passed by a majority of the committee.
