Summary
In today's meeting, the committee reviewed the matter sent by the president for the appointment of a member to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives. In this regard, Kudahuvadhoo Constituency member Hussain Hameedh proposed to set 28th October 2025 as the deadline for committee to complete the review, and to open for public complaints until 26th October 2025 and to interview the candidate sent by the president on 28th October 2025. This proposal was seconded by Guraidhoo Constituency member Hanan Mohamed Rasheed.This proposal was passed unanimously by the members present and voting in the meeting.
The second item on the agenda was the review of the issues submitted to the committee. Central Henveyru Constituency Member Hussain Nasih supported the proposal by Kudahuvadhoo Constituency member Hussain Hameedh to hold the committee's meeting as a closed-door meeting, as the cases submitted contain individual’s personal information. This proposal was also passed unanimously.
