Summary

In this meeting, the Committee first reviewed the “Bill Amending Maldives Higher Education and Training Act (7/2021)”.


MP Ali Moosa of Hoarafushi Constituency proposed, and MP Abdulla Shazeem of Central Hulhumale' Constituency seconded to amend the provisions in the bill to amend subsection (a) and numbers (1) and (3) of subsection (b) of Section 32 of the Act. Secondly, the committee discussed the duration to include in the bill for amending, making  and publicizing any necessary regulation following the proposed amendments in “Bill Amending Maldives Higher Education and Training Act (7/2021)”. After discussions, MP Abdul Hannan Aboobakuru of Thulhaadhoo Constituency proposed, and MP Ismail Shafeeu of Isdhoo Constituency seconded to include a period of 2 months in the bill to amend, make and publicize the regulations necessary. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present and voted.
