Summary
In today’s meeting, the Committee reviewed the issue submitted regarding the concerns raised by imams and other employees at mosques. Following deliberation, North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed to collect relevant information on the matter from the Local Government Authority and the President’s Office. The proposal was seconded by Vilifushi Constituency Member Hassan Waheed.
The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
The Committee then reviewed an issue submitted by a member of the public concerning complaints about the Fuvahmulah City Council. After discussion, North Henveyru Constituency Member Ahmed Aifan proposed to request the Local Government Authority to investigate the matter and to seek clarification from the Anti-Corruption Commission on whether such an issue has already been submitted to the Commission. The proposal was seconded by Kolamaafushi Constituency Member Ibrahim Didi.
The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
Lastly, the Committee discussed the issue submitted by the Whistleblower Committee of the People’s Majlis. After deliberations, the Committee members agreed to make a decision on the matter at the next meeting.
