Summary

In today’s meeting, Committee met with the officials from the Maldivian Blood Services and Maldivian Thalassemia Society to discuss the bill on amendment to the Thalassemia Control Act (no. 4/2012). After the discussion, the following amendments were brought to the bill.

  1. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 5 (b) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  2. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 6 (d) and 6 (j) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  3. Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim proposed to add two subsections to the end of section 6. This proposal was seconded by South Thinadhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Alsan Ahmed. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  4. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 6 (c) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  5. Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel proposed to add two subsections at the end of section 6 of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  6. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to add four subsections after section 7 (d) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  7. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 8(a) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  8. South Thinadhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Alsan Ahmed proposed to amend section 9 of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Kaashidhoo Constituency Member Munthazim Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  9. Kaashidhoo Constituency Member Munthazim Ibrahim proposed to amend section 10 (c) (8) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Dhaandhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Fazeel. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  10. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend section 11 (a) and (b) and add a subsection at the end of section 11 of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Kaashidhoo Constituency Member Munthazim Ibrahim. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  11. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to add a subsection to section 12 of the bill. This proposal was seconded by South Thinadhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Alsan Ahmed. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
  12. Komandoo Constituency Member Mohamed Ibrahim proposed to add a subsection to section 12 of the bill. This proposal was seconded by South Thinadhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Alsan Ahmed. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
