Summary
In today's meeting, the Committee met with representatives from Elections Commission regarding the commission’s proposed budget for 2026 and gathered information about their budget. The Commission highlighted that the budget allocated to them by the Ministry of Finance and Planning for 2026 would be insufficient if a by-election needed to be held, and also noted that the budget has not been allocated for the items included under the Commission's New Policy Initiatives.
