Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee first reviewed the Petition submitted by the staff of Maldives Broadcasting Commission regarding the complications faced on performing their duties and obligations. Consequently, Madaveli Constituency Member Mohamed Shameez proposed to conclude the works of the petition as the commission that was formed under the clause no.3 of the Act no: 16/2010 (Broadcasting Act) has been abolished since the Act no: 16/2025 (Maldives Media and Broadcasting Regulation Act) has come into effect. This was seconded by Ugoofaaru Constituency Member Mohamed Shifaz and was passed unanimously by the members present at the meeting.
Next, the committee reviewed the Petition for negligence in receiving statutory benefits for children with disabilities. Vaikaradhoo Constituency Member Hussain Ziyad proposed to send a letter to the National Social Protection Agency requesting further clarification regarding the concern raised about the delayed reimbursement of funds required for the therapy of children with disabilities. This was seconded by Madaveli Constituency Mohamed Shameez and was passed unanimously by the members present at the meeting.
