Summary
In today's meeting, the committee reviewed the issue sent by the president on the matter of appointment of Abdul Ghafor Mohamed, Ma. Athamaa Villa as the non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, appointment of Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Benhaage, Gdh. Gadhdhoo as the non-resident Ambassador to Federative Republic of Brazil and the appointment of Shiruzimath Sameer, M. Zeenaa as the non-resident Ambassador to United Mexican States, in accordance with Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of Act No. 20/2021 (The Maldives Foreign Services Act).
North Kulhudhuffushi Constituency Member Mohamed Dawoodh proposed to set the deadline for the completion of reviewing the issue as 15th February 2026, it was seconded by South Fuvahmulah Constituency Member Ibrahim Hussain. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
After this, the committee reviewed the issue sent by the president on the matter of appointment of Ahmed Sareer, M. West Side as the non-resident Ambassador to Oman and appointment of Mohamed Husaain Shareef, M. Kothanmaage as the non-resident Ambassador to Armenia, in accordance with Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of Act No. 20/2021 (The Maldives Foreign Services Act).
South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau proposed to set the deadline for the completion of reviewing the issue as 12th February 2026, it was seconded by Viligili Constituency Member Azim Azeez. The proposal was passed unanimously by the members present.
