In today’s meeting the committee discussed on the policy to be formulated under Article 30 of the Standing Order.
Article 30 of the Standing Order states that the General Purpose Committee shall formulate a rule governing the admission of guests to the Parliament House, guests and journalists coming to hear the sessions of Parliament, and other members of Parliament, guests and journalists other than members of Parliamentary Committees during their proceedings.
The Committee has formulated a policy for admitting guests and journalists to the Parliament House, guests and journalists coming to hear the Parliamentary Sessions and committee meetings.
Holhudhoo Constituency Member Abdul Sattar Mohamed proposed to pass the "Policy for admitting guests and journalists to the Parliament House, guests and journalists coming to hear the Parliamentary Sessions and committee meetings”. The motion was supported by Thimarafushi Constituency Member Ahmed Riyaz. This motion was passed unanimously by the members present and voting at the meeting.
