Summary

During this meeting, the committee reviewed presidential appointments for the following Non-Resident Ambassadors:

-    Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed (G.Dh Gadhdhoo, Benhaage) to the Argentine Republic.

-    Ms. Mariyam Midhfa Naeem (Ma. Rukkuri) to Cambodia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

-    Mr. Hassan Adam (H. Naseemee Villa) to the Hellenic Republic; and Ms. Aishath Shan Shakir (G. Penzeemage) to Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Member for the South Maafannu Constituency, Abdulla Rifau, proposed the appointment of Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed as the Non-Resident Ambassador to the Argentine Republic, pursuant to Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of the Maldives Foreign Service Act (Act No. 20/2021). The proposal was seconded by Member for the Villingili Constituency, Azim Abdul Azeez, and passed unanimously.

 

Subsequently, Member Abdulla Rifau proposed the appointment of Ms. Aishath Shan Shakir as the Non-Resident Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina under the same legal provisions. This was also seconded by Member Azim Abdul Azeez and passed unanimously by the members present.
