Summary

In today’s meeting, the committee discussed the Organ Transplant Bill. After the discussion, the following amendments were brought to the bill.


  1. West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to amend sec.18(a)(2) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Addu Meedhoo Constituency Member Abdul Rahmaan. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
  2. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend sec.41(e) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Addu Meedhoo Constituency Member Abdul Rahmaan. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
  3. Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda proposed to amend sec.53(a) (along with the side heading) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
  4. West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to amend sec.66 (d), (e), (g) and (h) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Nilandhoo Constituency Member Fathimath Sauda. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
  5. West Maafannu Constituency Member Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim proposed to amend sec.68 (b) of the bill. This proposal was seconded by Addu Meedhoo Constituency Member Abdul Rahmaan. The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.

 

Lastly, Committee Chairperson proposed to pass the Organ Transplant Bill including the amendments brought to the bill.
