Summary

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed presidential appointments for the following:

-    Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim (G. Noomaraa Hiya) as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates;

-    Mr. Adam Shareef Umar (Chaman / R. Fainu) as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the State of Qatar.


North Kulhudhuffushi Constituency Member Mohamed Dhawood proposed the appointment of Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim (G. Noomaraa Hiya) as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates, pursuant to Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of the Maldives Foreign Service Act (Act No. 20/2021). The proposal was seconded by South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau and passed unanimously.


Subsequently, North Kulhudhuffushi Constituency Member Mohamed Dhawood proposed the appointment of Mr. Adam Shareef Umar (Chaman / R. Fainu) as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the State of Qatar, pursuant to Article 115(d) of the Constitution and Article 14 of the Maldives Foreign Service Act (Act No. 20/2021). The proposal was seconded by South Maafannu Constituency Member Abdulla Rifau and passed unanimously.
