Summary
In today’s meeting, the committee reviewed the Petition regarding the changes brought to the salaries of legal professionals working in councils and those under the Civil Service framework, following reforms to the National Pay Framework. Consequently, the committee determined that the concerns raised in the petition had already been addressed through salary and allowance adjustments implemented by the National Pay Commission.
Since the issue raised in the petition was therefore considered to have been resolved, a motion was submitted by Madaveli Constituency Member Mohamed Shameez, to conclude the committee's review of the petition and send a written response to the petitioner. The motion was seconded by Ungoofaaru Constituency Member Ibrahim Shifaz, and the motion was unanimously approved by all committee members present at the meeting.
