In this meeting the committee discussed about deadline for completion of review of the matter referred by the President for the appointment of a person to the post of Commissioner General of Taxation in accordance with Section 8(a) of Tax Administration Act (No. 3/2010) and how to proceed with the issue. In this regard, North Thinadhoo constituency member Saudhulla Hilmy proposed to set the deadline for the committee to complete its work on this matter as 14 July 2026, deadline to submit public complaints for the candidates as 12 July 2026, 2pm and to interview candidates meeting the qualifications for the post on 13 July 2026. This proposal was seconded by Central Mahchangolhi constituency member Ahmed Zameer. Members present at the time of the voting unanimously passed this proposal.
