Summary

In this meeting the Committee reviewed matters submitted to the Committee by Members of the People's Majlis.

The first on the agenda was the issue submitted by MP Mohamed Ibrahim of North Galolhu Constitunecy, regarding the current state of the traditional art of Feyli weaving in the Maldives and its preservation and promotion. As the committee had previously met with relevant authorities concerning this matter, it was decided to dispatch the necessary letters to the ministries and provide a formal response to the member who submitted the issue.


Subsequently, the committee reviewed a matter submitted by the MP Ibrahim Hussain of South Fuvahmulah Constituency, alleging systemic harassment to a teacher at Fuvahmulah School by the school's principal. Upon seeking clarification from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Skills Development, the Ministry informed the committee that the issue has now been resolved. Following deliberations, the committee decided to provide a response to the member stating that the matter has been resolved.

The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.

The committee then discussed the matter referred by MP Mohamed Ibrahim of North Galolhu Constitunecy raising concerns on the renovation work of the old and former Thalassemia Centre building. Following discussions on this matter, MP Azim Abdul Azeez of Villingili Constituency proposed and MP Hamad Abdulla of North Fuvahmulah Constituency seconded to send letters to Male’ City Group of Hospitals to clarify about the renovvantion works.

The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.

The meeting then proceeded to review the issue submitted by MP Mohamed Ibrahim of North Galolhu Constituency, seeking a solution to the problems arising from the high density of land transport vehicles in Male' City. Following discussions on this matter MP Saudulla Hilmy of North Thinadhoo Constituency proposed and MP Azim Abdul Azeez of Villingili Constituency seconded to send letters to the Male' City Council and the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport, and Trade to clarify regarding this issue.

The motion was passed unanimously by the members present at the time of voting.
